Generic term: Degenerative heart disease refers to all the changes that occur with aging in contrast to (for example) due to infection, trauma, auto-immune diseases, cancer, etc. It can take many forms, but 2 common manifestations are aortic sclerosis and mitral annular calcification. There are many others.
