CHF: Congestive heart failure is a complex syndrome of inadequate heart function leading to retention of fluid which may be in the lungs and cause breathlessness or may be in the legs and cause swelling. There are many causes such as blocked arteries, valve abnormalities, weakened heart muscle, abnormal stiffness with poor filling. High blood pressure is a common cause. Most patients are fatigued.
