A member asked:

Dear sir, does lft test is an enough test for a healthy liver?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: LFTs or liver function tests measure liver enzyme activity in the liver. We use them as general screening tests for liver health. If patients are having specific liver related problems then we may want more specific tests such as tests for viral hepatitis or a liver ultrasound. If your LFTs are normal and you have no liver related complaints then probably no further testing is needed.
