Try something else: Neither next-gen antihistamines nor Sudafed may have enough anticholinergic effect to stop a runny nose if that is the primary problem (no congestion).Chlorpheniramine is an old-gen antihistamine that can help, but beware of warnings on the label. Sinus saline irrigation often helps more than you'd think. Otherwise, see Allergist for work-up. Methscopolamine or nasal ipratropium may be tried.

Consider not allergy: Non-allergic rhinitis is seen in the clinic all the time. Assuming no history of head trauma (can cause spinal fluid leak - I've seen this!), a 61yo w/ perennial watery, clear nasal discharge, worse with wind, meals (gustatory rhinitis), cold dry air often is non-allergic. Get skin allergy tested; ask to try nasal antihistamine (Astelin) or nasal anticholinergic (Atrovent). Might just do the trick

Could just be: not allergy, as Dr Gels pointed, CSF leak could be the cause, at times no need for history of trauma, I have seen few cases, please make sure that it isn't the case first, see an ENT
