Can you ovulate 1 day before your period?

No: That does not happen. However, a woman can ovulate 1 day before she has some vaginal spotting or vaginal bleeding. That's because there are other reasons for bleeding from one's vagina, other than one's menstrual period.

Yes: Ovulation is the monthly release of an egg from your ovary. Typically, ovulation cannot reliably be predicted based on the length of your cycle. Just because your cycle is short or irregular doesn't mean you didn't ovulate.
