Depends: on your tolerance. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) affects people differently. Some people can take 12.5 mg and be knocked out, while others can take 25 or even 50 and still be chatty and alert. I suggest you try melatonin if you only need to sleep a little while. 5mg should help you rest for about 4 hours. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
