A member asked:

Went to the doctors because my back was so itchy it was scaly. had tsh test and it is 0.001. what does this mean, am i over active or under active .

A doctor has provided 1 answer

TSH 0.001: The UK reference range 0.4-4.5 so your TSH value is quite low. That could mean your pituitary gland is not working properly or your thyroid is working "overtime". Quite frankly I cannot imagine why your doctor did not measure T4 or T3, (liothyronine) or be concerned about your low TSH. Please contact the doctor for a full explanation. If that is not satisfactory see another Endocrinologist!
