Oral contraceptives: It is unlikely for you to get pregnant if you're actively having a period. You're usually more at risk starting day 10. However if you don't want to get pregnant then you should start taking your pill daily and not have unprotected sex for 1wk. It is safe and effective for pregnancy prevention but you have to take it every day.
