Dental evaluation: theonly way to k ow your options is by seeing a dentist. If there is no tooth remaining above the gum line then extraction and replacement may be your only choice.

See dentist: Need to see the dentist to evaluate. The dentist will do a clinical examination to check for fractures as well as a radiographic examination to ascertain if the tooth is salvageable. The tooth may need crown lengthening to restore or a retreat if necessary. It is up to the dentist and patient to determine if long term prognosis is great or an implant is a more viable choice.

See dentist ASAP!: From this description the most predictable solution is to remove the tooth and replace it with a dental implant and crown. Re-treating the root canal and rebuilding the tooth has a much poorer prognosis (poorer rate of success) than the implant.

Examination: As all tooth fractures are different your question cannot be answered without a clinical examination and possibly imaging. Generally, however, tenth fractured to the gum line, or teeth with roots decayed below the gum line, are best treated with extraction/implant/crown.
