Cognitive behavioral: If you don't want to take antidepressants, then make sure to avoid benzodiazepines, too. Those can be rather addicting. Instead, ask for cognitive behavioral therapy. Would: you be willing to take an anti-anxiety medication? Many of the SSRI's are used for patients who have generalized anxiety disorders and who don't have depression.
