See your doctor: Birth-control will still work if you have hypertension. Hypertension medicines don't keep birth-control pills from working. But birth control pills can make your hypertension worse. Also, the combination of hypertension and birth-control pills can increase the risk of stroke and other problems--especially if you smoke or have diabetes. Your doc knows your history and can advise.
