Eustachian tube: malfunction on the left side could be the cause. Take otc Sudafed tablet for few days. It will open it if it is blocked or partially blocked from an inflammation. Take care.

Get TMJ eval: See your dentist to evaluate this ,too. The ear canal is just behind the jaw joint (TMJ) and can sometimes present with issues like you describe if you have TMD(temporal mandibular dysfunction).
