A few medications: There are two goals to treating the infection: 1) eradicate the bacteria and 2) restore drainage. Antibiotics are used to treat the bacteria. Consult with your md re: best combination of the following: nasal saline sprays (hypertonic is better), nasal steroid sprays, topical decongestants (3 days max), oral steroids (e.g. Prednisone), oral decongestants, analgesic if painful.
