A member asked:

I had gallbladder surgery on 4/21 and keep getting told that the burning "acid" i have is just gerd. i'm on acid inhibitor x3 daily @ 40 mg no relief. i believe i have bile leak can you help?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cholestyramine: When you have your gallbladder out bile is continuously sent into your digestive tract. In some patients this does not cause a problem. In others it can cause severe reflux and diarrhea. In those patients often a bile acid binder like cholestyramine can be used to help relieve symptoms. I suggest you talk to your doctor to see if this may be helpful to you.
