Tonsillar crypt: The palatine (throat) tonsil has many indentations called crypts which increase the surface area of the tonsil. It is not uncommon for food particles to be caught in them. If you have no pain, or inflammation (tonsillitis) or terrible odor, gently cleaning the area with a Q-tip can be successful. If you get bleeding, see an ENT doctor.
