What can happen if your gallbladder is not functioning properly? i have high abdominal with chest and back. ruled out acid reflux .

Pain, GI upset: There are many gallbladder issues that can cause symptoms. Formation of stones in the gallbladder can cause problems if a stone migrates into the bile channel causing blockage. In addition, the gallbladder can become inflamed or infected. Also, the gallbladder can lose its ability to empty. These issues can cause abdominal pain and loose stools/fever. See your doctor to get evaluated.
