See below: Hashimotos can go through three phases, 1. uncommonly it may cause hyperthyroidism in an early phase of the disease, 2. followed by normal thyroid function and the 3. long phase of hypothyroidism. If you do not have thyroid deficiency and taking thyroid medication is unlikely to be helpful.
