Not unusual: swelling is usually the last thing to subside after an ankle injury. Icing should help. Your physician might send you for therapy to reduce the swelling and get you back to normal

Swelling: After an injury can persist for several months depending on the nature of the injury. But, if you have concern, see your treating physician to be checked over.
