See a doctor: If you still have swelling three months after your injury, it is possible that you have a fracture in your ankle that has gone unrecognized. I would suggest seeing an orthopaedic doctor for appropriate x-rays and physical exam, .

Orthopaedic surgeon: You may have something else going on in your ankle such as instability (looseness), loose bodies, a cartilage lesion, or scar tissue that is causing swelling and flui accumulation within your ankle joint. Further or initial orthopaedic evaluation is warranted.

What are some of the symptoms of a broken or sprained ankle?

Dr. Kenneth Cheng answered

Varies: Symptoms of a broken ankle and a sprained ankle are very similar. They both include pain, swelling, bruising, and limited walking. A broken ankle has the additional symptom of severe pain on weight bearing and thus typically one with a broken ankle will not put any weight on that foot or ankle.

I sprained my ankle at work, where should I go to get this fixed?

Depends: If injured at work, you may have someone present at your company to see you. If not, you may be directed to the company's worker's comp doctor. Otherwise you may wish to see your pcp, an orthopedist, a podiatrist or go to an urgern care center. You should notify your supervisor and explain the accident and document when, where and how the injury occured. Be safe and be careful.
