If i take nitro for occasional chest pain under a drs. supervision will it effect my temporal arteritis in a negative way? i was just diagnosed today.

Not really: It is vasodilator not constrictor. Vasodilation is good for it. The temporal arteritis is inflammation of your arteries which means narrowing of your artery. Anti-inflammatory steroid pills helps with it.

Do not worry: The nitro should be used as advised by your doctor. If you do have temporal arteritis, hopefully treatment for Herpes virus, and the local inflammation has started.
