May be precancereous: Biting of the lip is not considered one of the factors inducing malignancy. Most lesions represent a viral or carcinogenic induction. If the white patch is leukoplakia this may be precancerous but rare again from biting. Rather than a V resection of the lesion to allow surgical repair, one may try Efudex (fluorouracil) cream. Apply each evening x 10 and 10 days of A&D ointment. May need bx if no response.
