A member asked:

Would biting the dead skin off of my lips really cause cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Theoretically it may: Any repeated trauma can be associated with cancer. Any time the body has to make new cells, there is the chance that it will make a mistake in copying the dna, which in turn could lead to cancer. Lip cancer is much more commonly associated with repeated sunburns, though. So if you are worried about cancer, use a sunscreen chapstick.
