Petechiae: What you're describing sounds like a cluster of broken tiny blood vessels called petechiae. Petechiae can be caused by injury, inflammation, suction, friction or increased pressure in the blood vessels. (I'm probably missing a few causes!) You should be worried enough to have this checked out but, chances are that it's not a sign of something serious.
