Don't worry.: An occasional lighter flow isn't necessarily worrisome. Periods can vary greatly in many women from month to month. The brown discharge is just dried blood and tissue from your uterine lining. However, if you are sexually active and don't use contraception, it would be wise to do a home pregnancy test, which is fast and inexpensive, to make sure you aren't pregnant.
