Most likely: few melanoms present as a circular nodular growth. Rather they present with an irregular shape with variegated coloration, that is areas from dark brown to light brown to whitish. If this is or is developing, one usually sees a fine redish area along some of the margins suggesting an immune attack since melanoma sheds antigen into the skin. Biopsy usually indicated.
