Depression effects: Depression is one of the most costly illnesses to society, in terms of people's ability to work and relate to each other. In depression, you may have very little motivation to study or work -- so poor productivity results. People can lose jobs. Apathy or irritability may pervade personal relationships, leading to suffering in families and kids who are unsupervised. Death by suicide can happen too.
