Tianeptine: Until you asked this question, i had never heard of this drug. There is a wikipedia entry for it here: http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/tianeptine and it suggests that it works differently than medications available in the us. In fact it works opposite to ssri medications (like prozac). Sometimes our meds works by simply "shaking up" the system, so it doesn't surprise me that this drug works for you.

Tianeptine (Stablon): Tianeptine is only available in europe, not the us. It has many unique effects -- including serotonin reuptake enhancement (not inhibition, like most other antidepressants), as well as normalization of brain glutamate dysfunctions and structural changes found in depression (esp in hippocampus). It also helps amygdala and cortex, alleviating the symptoms of depression-associated anxiety.
