Yes: I treat many with osteoporosis. Most have vitamin D deficiency. Have your Gyn order a 25-OH vitamin D level. Most people need between 1000 & 5000 units daily. Your dose depends on your level. The lower the level, the higher the dose you need to take (Life long).

Yes: Many Americans suffer deficiencies in vitamin D, but this vitamin is fat soluble and will store in the system. Overdoses can occur by taking high doses over time, AND they are sold over the counter, meaning non regulated use. Simple blood tests will tell if your levels are hi, low, or correct.
