Depends: So when taking medeoxyprogesterone and you are taking it for PCOS you make have breakthrough bleeding vs a normal period and they are difficult to distinguish. It's best for you to be on the medication for some time to ensure that your cycles have adjusted. If you are taking it purely for birth control then we usually ask that you use another contraceptive method for 1-2 months to overlap
