Mostly money.: The process of egg freezing is complex & expensive. Most insurance companies cover it only in specific medical situations. In addition to the cost of collection and freezing, there's the on-going cost of preservation. Side effects include overstimulation of ovaries, bleeding, cramping & infection. While egg freezing isn't experimental, it's not a standard procedure for healthy young women.
