SpineSurgeon consult: Vertebral hemangiomas are the most common benign neoplasms of the spine. The treatment of spinal cord compression secondary to a vertebral hemangioma is a total or partial excision of the hemangioma. Ask your neurologist for referral to a Spine Surgeon consultation.

Comments: The hemangioma is very unlikely to represent anything other than a congenital vascular variation, which is rather common. Did you not have an explanation of what is causing your symptoms from your neurologist? Please be assertive, and request that there is a plan to uncover the cause of your symptoms, and what types of therapeutic interventions might be best.
