It depends.: The need to taper risperidone from 1mg/day prior to discontinuation depends upon the patient's specific condition, including behavioral issues, age, length of treatment with the drug, general state of health, reasons for and circumstances of discontinuation, and a multiplicity of other factors too numerous to mention here.

Usually Tapered: It usually is tapered from 1mgm to 0.5 mgm and then stopped but it depends on how long she has been on it and at what dose.If she stops and feel alright there is no problem but if she gets any symptoms she can taperit down Good Luck
