Is it possible for the needle to break off in your arm from getting blood drawn with a butterfly needle?

No: The metal needle is securely attached to the plastic parts of the butterfly needle and cannot come off during a blood draw. The same is true of non-butterfly needles... the metal needles cannot come out of the plastic during normal use.
