Ibuprofen: Melfen is ibuprofen. It can be a good choice for costrocondritis , if there is no concern for stomach irritation, kidney issues, or bleeding limiting its use. Usualy dose would be 600 to 800 mg 3 times a day (with food) for 5 to 7 days. I would still check with your doctor to make sure that there is not a reason that melfen was not suggested initially.
