Calorie dense foods: Eating calorie dense foods such as nuts, heavy cream, butter, fatty fishes, dried prunes, and avocado can help increase daily calorie intake and assist in the desired weight gain. Supplements for weight gain would be inferior in quality to whole foods which are readily available and much less expensive.

See dr: That is a very low weight for an 8 year old. It is important to have her evaluated for possible medical problems that could keep her from growing properly (food absorption issues, genetic syndrome, growth hormone issues, etc). She may be perfectly normal and just very petite, but an evaluation is strongly recommended
