A member asked:

What are the signs (other than incisions) that someone may have had a gastric band/bypass type procedure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: There are some experimental "incisionless" bariatric procedures that involve implanted balloons or tubes within the intestinal tract. There are also experiments being done with surgical incisions completely through the stomach and vagina, however, these are very rudimentary right now. In general, no scars, no surgery. With a lapband, there will be a palpable "port" or 1" disc under the skin.
