A member asked:

Small uterine fibroid. periods little heavier.bloods show haemocrit of 32, removal suggested. is this the most likely cause of my anaemia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be: It is the heavy periods and not the fibroid per se that is causing the anemia. Once you are post-menopausal, the fibroid will shrink and there may be no need to remove it. Take oral iron supplement and multivitamin and wait it out. Get PAP smear, practice safe sex and exercise regularly.
