Cellulitis: This is an infection of the deep soft tissues, most commonly caused by bacteria. Usually it spreads locally first, but then may skip areas to lymph nodes if it enters the lymphatic circulation. Spread to other areas of the body is possible but not common except in more advanced or untreated cases.
