Do the vocal cords move when we breath in and out?or do they just stay open?and do they close completely when u hold ur breath?

Open when breathing: Normal vocal cords abduct (open) with inspiration (breathing). They may paradoxically close during inspiration causing stridor (noisy upper airway sound). If paralyzed they may also adduct (close) due to Bernoulli's principle, as velocity increased, pressure decreases collapsing the vocal cords.
