Occipital neuralgia: hi Amila, You may have an irritation of one of your occipital nerves. These nerves are formed from upper nerve roots of the cervical spine, and they course through a couple of layers of neck musculature to innervate your scalp. You may have some tight neck muscles compressing this nerve intermittently. Try icing your neck, physical therapy, or see a dr for an occipital nerve block procedure.
