Bacterial pneumonia: Bacterial pneumonia generally has a fever. And a cough, which produces a lot of phlegm. There may be other signs as well - difficulty breathing, pain in the chest (especially when breathing in), & other signs of infection. The clinical triad (fever, cough, dyspnea) is seen a fair amount of time, but up to 20% of the time, you could be missing 1 of these signs & still have pneumonia (& the other 2)
