Has hypnosis helped anyone live comfortably with bdd. i am considering it instead of more cosmetic surgery?

May be worth a try: Body dysmorphic disorder or bdd is a psychological condition characterized by obsessive dissatisfaction with appearance. Cosmetic surgery is not usually helpful in the way it is in people with realistic expectations. Therapy is a better option.

Hypnosis & BDD: Congratulations on deciding to forego more cosmetic surgery, if you have bdd. If your hypnotist is also a skilled therapist (psychologist, psychiatrist, or other licensed mental health professional) you may get good benefit. This is because the hypnosis sessions will be woven into ongoing therapeutic work that helps you appreciate and love yourself as you are. Be well.

Can't hurt (CBT#1Rx): Although cognitive behavioral therapy along with a supervised medication regimen are considered the standard of practice for treating bdd.
