Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) a: peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) is an antimicrobial mouthwash that you swish with for 1 min and spit out. If you don't have a prescription for that you can use warm salt water rinses or mix hydrogen peroxide 50% with water 50% and do the same. They all act as antibiotic (antimicrobial) rinses but the key is to swish back far enough to get the food and debris that collect in the gyms out. The cleaner the faster u heal

Food in socket: It is always best to first consult with your own dentist for advice and instructions. Having said that: if the tooth was removed within the last 48 hours, just rinse as thoroughly as you can and don't be too concerned if there is still some food or debris in the socket. If it's after 48 hours, you can use an ear bulb syringe filled with water from your local drug store or supermarket-- GENTLY.
