No: According to the CDC, US men have higher rates of alcohol abuse and dependence (17% lifetime) than women (8%). Men also have much higher rates of injury and hospitalization related to alcohol. Male drivers are twice as likely to be intoxicated in fatal car accidents than female drivers. Men who commit suicide are more likely than women to have consumed alcohol.
