A member asked:

What are possible reasons that my daughter gets a sinus infection every time she gets sick?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Viral illnesses often causes inflammation in mucous membranes. When inflamed, this can affect the drainage of our sinuses. In those cases, a bacterial superinfection can also occur. Anatomic problems with sinus drainage can also contribute to these issues. If this is a persistent problem, see a ear, nose, and throat specialist.
