Diagnosis: If your primary put you on medicine for pain in the ear, the more important question to be answered is WHAT IS YOUR DIAGNOSIS. If the ear pain is not accompanied by hearing loss, most likely, you do not have an ear infection. ETD is a waste basket diagnosis and if the ear drum looks normal and a tympanogram is normal, you do not have ETD. Ask you Ob doctor about the safety of pain meds.

Complicated: Generally, it's best to avoid it during pregnancy/breast feeding but the risk is not too certain. Definitely discuss it w/ all the Dr's and try safer alternatives if possible. A few doses will not be likely to harm, so don't panic. but do talk ASAP.
