A member asked:

What can a hsv2 type specific igg result value of 17.2 tell me other than obviously being 'positive'? i've never had outbreaks. this is my first test.

Dr. John Chiu answered

Exposure: This means that you have had exposure to the virus and have developed immunity to the virus. If the IgM to hsv2 was negative, then you don't have an active disease.
