Concerning: This is concerning and should be evaluated by a thyroidologist or thyroid surgeon. Further evaluation may include an MRI or CT scan and/or a biopsy.

Outside thyroid: Thyroid tissue can occur outside the thyroid . In the case of the US results you give,the thyroid either has a mass in it or a contiguous (next to and touching on) mass which does not have to be a thyroid tissue mass. Further testing is needed to determine the nature of the mass. You should follow up on this finding ASAP.
