19 years old: At your age, there should be a careful search for reversible causes (ie secondary HTN). That said, in the majority of cases, no cause will be found. Artifactual HTN should be ruled out by carefully measuring BP at home multiple times. Kidney disease must be ruled out. How's your body mass index?
