Pap Smear: it is not unusual to have a small amount of bleeding after a Pap smear. Sometimes the cervix bleeds a little when it is brushed or scraped. This is usually apparent when the pap is done. I usually tell my patients at the time to expect a little spotting. If it is persistent or becomes like a period then you need to contact your doctor.

This isn't actually: That uncommon. As during the Pap smear, samples, which are taken from your cervix, are obtained by rubbing special collecting tools against the cervix which can lead to some tissue irritation. Granted some women with inflammatory issues of the cervix(cervicitis) may more readily bleed. If the bleeding persists or is significant review this with your doctor.
